Did you know...

  • So far this month, SJ's CEO Jonas Abrahamsson has earned 343 833 kr

  • So far this year, Swedavia (a state-owned company, i.e. your tax money) has lost 46 814 992 kr operating Bromma Airport

Why we do this

SJ AB is a state-owned company providing an essential public service. Under the EU Open Data Directive (2019/1024), implemented in Sweden as law 2022:818, exactly this kind of mobility and transport data from public bodies should be freely available to the public.

We cannot legally compel SJ to open its API today. But we are convinced that we fulfil the directive's intent: that citizens should be able to access and build upon data produced with taxpayer money.

What we do is simple: we show the same information as SJ's own website, faster and without unnecessary clicks. We make no money. Booking always happens directly with SJ.

In Justin Roczniak's immortal words: "Cars bad, trains good." We fight on the side of the train. SJ's website does not. History has always rewarded those who made it easy to choose right; we have already won every time someone was spared clicking through four pages to find a train.
